Local Heroes Challenge #3

This was the photo that we used during our SPCA Charity challenge. 

If you do not know what it is about, 

probably head over to here to understand what is this campaign is all about. 

(Gosh, I'm still laughing at that photo of mine.)

YONO Flashpay

For this challenge, we were given a YONO flashpay card (You Only Need One)

It consist of $300 where we used it to purchase items from selected outlets to sell.

All sales were directed to SPCA Charity. 

YONO flashpay card really made everything so simple! 

This concept allowed me to shop cashless and with so much ease!

After shopping, we then proceed to B1 to set up our booth

This was our booth area!

We were given a random letter to be assigned to a designated area.

Setting up ...

We had to officially opened up our booth at 3pm. 

It was very very hectic for our team,

as we experienced some problems upon the commence of the challenge.

Tons of customers flooded at our booth!

We were busy answering questions, 

issuing out receipts,

packing the stuff, 

and providing the best customer service that we could.

Too busy till I almost forgot taking pictures!

Paws for hope was our campaign for SPCA Charity event! (:

Some of our ideas were to provide complimentary temporary tattoos and nail polish. 

Or they could use our service at $5 and $4 respectively.

After the event has ended, 

they announced the top three team who had generated the most sales.

As I was busy taking photos, the emcee, Soo announced 

The 3rd winner collected $322.
The 2nd winner collected $359.
The 1st winner collected $383.

We won the 2nd!

I was dumbstruck!

I looked at Dawn and Eugenia with amazement.

We did not expect to have accumulated $359! 

Well, as much as we were excited,

we definitely could not have done this without the support of the customers and friends,

some who specially came down to support!

Hey... not forgetting PHOTOS time!

I'm specially naming all of you just to express my heartfelt gratitude!

Some self reflections...

It's really a great privilege to meet misstamchiak,
where I've learnt from her beyond the importance of good photos for blogs,
but most importantly regarding her honesty in her food reviews.

Here's a gist of what she mentioned in our conversation:

If she feels the food and place is good, 
she will do a review and many people can trust her knowing that she is not paid to do her reviews/advertisement but from her personal experience. 

Honesty is something I valued a lot
and we should always be humble no matter how big we are or become.
She was kind and humble to help the teams in this challenge to take the best shot.

Today, I am going to share my experience
while doing my challenge at Charlie Brown Café  !

I arrived at 9:30AM to meet my team which were Weiting, Joey and myself.

We went through a session of planning and discussion to prepare ourselves.
 After planning and grabbing a bite, we headed to the café at about 10:25AM
All ready........ for our challenge which will commence at 10:30AM !

Charlie Brown Café 

Charlie Brown Café really puts effort into furnishing and decorating the whole place.

You will see this picture of a glowing Charlie inside the cafe at the entrance,

neatly designed on the ground!

Upon arriving, we found out that the previous teams have yet to complete their turn.
But the good thing is, we got to take pictures of the environment
and take a peek at how is the previous teams doing it.
*Evil laughter*.

This café is a good place for selfie!

Yes indeed, i kinda love the environment in this café.
The walls are dressed up with pictures of charlie brown and snoopy,
not forgetting there are huge glass panels allowing natural sunlight to shine through,
and has a real comfortable feel to the whole place.

Next up, it's our turn!
We went into the kitchen to start our challenge.
We were guided by a young female chef named Nicole for our challenge.

Chef Nicole told us that we will be cooking pancakes 

and will be demonstrating how to only once. *gasp*

So we had to ensure we do not miss any nitty bitty details or it is going to cost us. 

We had to cook the pancakes within 5minutes.

I was taking photos and talking nonsense while my teammate *as usual*

Joey did the cooking and Weiting videoed the whole process.

We were first given a trial to do the pancakes

Amazingly, Joey did so well for our first trial 
that Chef Nicole actually said that this could be our final product!

I was wondering should we go for a second attempt?
Well... we went ahead to present our first attempt and received a pretty awesome grade!
Anyways, we were so thankful for the Chef Nicole's guidance and Joey's skills. *claps*


The chef told us we got only five minutes to take our best shot. 
So we panicked like busy bees!
We rushed to grab all the necessary items and began snapping away.

I was not very experience to take photos so Joey and Weiting helped me with their DSLR 
(and I was like omg... why does everyone own a DSLR?!) 

I borrowed some of the cafe props to help in taking the best shot.

After completing our challenge, I decided to explore around Charlie Brown Café.

When I began looking through the café,
I discovered this café has much more to offer!

But wait… maybe not all food.

Previously, I went to Cathay Cineleisure Orchard,

and it’s really an utterly awesome mall in 101.5 ways!

Like seriously,

I cannot even count how many times I have been there.

For shopping, for movies, and not forgetting for food too.

Thinking about the food makes me hungry already.

There's this one shop that I mad love it!

It is like my BFF, literally.

It is of course none other than ... 

BEST FRIES FOREVER !

OMG like seriously, the cheese super shiok one!

I can imagine you drooling from looking at the picture here.

Whoa, it is almost as though I can smell it leh!

But then again,

I shouldn't be seeing this photo in the middle of the night ._.

SUPER CRAVING FOR IT NOW. Argh...

I've alwayssssssss love fries, especially cheese fries. 

And this is a definitely must try.

As a student myself,

and a true red Singaporean,

I am definitely going for good and affordable food!

Aiyaa I am a poor student okay,

so must watch out for such good lobangs!

BFF's price is superrrrrrrrrrrr worth it!

Now, when you tell your friends,

"HEY, I just had the Best Fries Forever"

and if they ask you where,

say " Best Fries Forever lor!"

Hahahaha just kidding!
